Description
CMC Mercedes-Benz 300 SL,W198, Rallye Roadster brown Limited Edition 1500 pieces High-quality collector's model in 1:18 scale M-295
Thanks to its new frame, the 300 SL Roadster (1957-1963) offered normal access, disc brakes and a top speed of 250 km/h. With 1,858 cars built, the 215 hp sports car established the legend of the SL series.
This almost 70-year-old 300 SL Rallye Roadster is very much alive and exceptionally active. It started out as a normal production car in dark blue, but at some point the vehicle was repainted in dark brown, followed by the huge additional headlights and the oversized roll bars. Under the bonnet, however, things are all the more sophisticated, with an exhaust pipe leading out from the side that is so discreet that it is barely noticeable at first.
This changes abruptly when the engine is started, the visual restraint is replaced by an extraordinary acoustic presence, in short: then it gets really loud.
The Rallye-300 SL is in use all over the world: whether at the Ennstal-Classic in Styria, in Australia at the Adelaide Classic or in the Rocky Mountains at the Colorado Grand, the 300 SL Rallye proves everywhere that it is far from being a thing of the past. It goes without saying that the Rallye Roadster also comes with removable hubcaps, even though it was probably mostly driven without them back then.
