CMC Mercedes-Benz lorry LO 2750, 1934-38 with tarpaulin
At the end of the 1920s, a new era of lorry construction began at the Daimler-Benz plant in Gaggenau. From 1932, Mercedes-Benz was one of the first commercial vehicle manufacturers to present a truck programme that included diesel engines. Within a very short space of time, the diesel engine replaced the petrol engine that had been commonly used until then and became the benchmark for transport tasks due to its economy and high reliability.
