Description of the original vehicle:
Mercedes sent four W125 racing cars to the Donington GP in England on 2 October 1937.
Manfred von Brauchitsch, with starting number 3, fought a thrilling battle for victory with Bernd Rosemeyer in an Auto Union Type C. Shortly before the end of the race, von Brauchitsch had to pit due to a burst tyre. He changed the car, but was unable to catch up with Bernd Rosemeyer and crossed the finish line in a well-deserved second place behind the winner Bernd Rosemeyer.
