Das Jahrzehnt der Raubkatze startete 1949 mit dem grandiosen Sportwagen XK120 und führte zum wahrscheinlich schönsten Automobil jemals, dem Typ XKE – in Kontinentaleuropa besser bekannt als E-Type. Der C-Type wurde für den Einsatz im Motorsport 1951 aus dem XK120 entwickelt.
