The Ferrari 296 Speciale A is characterised by its precise extra-boost control, which uses the capabilities of the electric drive system in a targeted manner to deliver a significant increase in power for a limited period. This boost function, which is exclusively available in the eManettino setting Qualify available, provides an additional boost specifically when accelerating out of corners to noticeably minimise lap times.

A curved indicator on the instrument cluster, positioned to the right of the rev counter, continuously informs the driver of the system's remaining energy reserve. The technical efficiency of this control system is demonstrated out on the track: on the circuit in Fiorano, for example, the extra boost can be activated 14 times within two laps, while the system architecture in Mugello enables up to 15 boost intervals on a single lap.
