The Ferrari 296 Speciale features a state-of-the-art extra-boost control that harnesses the full potential of the electric drive system to deliver a significant increase in performance for a limited period. This feature is exclusive to the „Qualify setting of the Manettino and is used to generate a targeted power boost when accelerating out of corners in order to precisely minimise lap times.

A curved display in the instrument cluster to the right of the rev counter continuously informs the driver about the remaining boost energy reserve. On the racetrack in Fiorano, for example, the extra boost can be activated 14 times over two laps, whereas the system architecture in Mugello enables a total of 15 boost deployments on a single lap.
