At the 1972 Geneva Motor Show, the new Dino 246 GTS was unveiled to the public and immediately met with a positive reception. Its success is reflected in the production figures: out of approximately 4,000 examples of the series produced, 1,200 left the factory as Spiders.<\/p>\n<p>Technically, the Dino 246 brought extensive modifications compared to its predecessor, the 206 GT. The most important change was found in the engine bay: instead of aluminium, the engine block was now made entirely of cast iron.<\/p>\n<p>The most striking features of the 246 GTS include the removable targa roof and the distinctive Daytona-style seats. Their elaborate craftsmanship is characterised by the precise reproduction of the numerous, fine leather stripes of the original.
