Auf dem Genfer Auto-Salon 1972 wurde das neue Fahrzeug pr\u00e4sentiert und vom Publikum mit gro\u00dfem Zuspruch aufgenommen. Der kommerzielle Erfolg zeigte sich deutlich in den Produktionszahlen: Von den insgesamt rund 4.000 gefertigten Exemplaren der Baureihe verlie\u00dfen 1.200 als Spider die Werkshallen.<\/p>\n<p>Technisch brachte das Modell im Vergleich zur fr\u00fcheren 206 GT-Reihe signifikante Neuerungen mit sich. Insbesondere der Motorblock erfuhr ein wichtiges Update und wurde fortan aus Gusseisen statt aus Aluminium gefertigt.
