Questo gioiello dello sport motonautico \u00e8 spinto da un motore Ferrari V12 da 4,5 litri, lo stesso utilizzato nella Ferrari 375 di Formula 1, dotato di due compressori. Il 15 ottobre 1953, Castoldi stabil\u00ec il record mondiale di velocit\u00e0 per gli idrovolanti a motore sul lago d'Iseo, con una velocit\u00e0 di 242,708 km\/h. Questo record \u00e8 tuttora imbattuto.<\/p>\n<p>L'Arno XI fu poi acquistato da Nando Dell'Orto, appassionato ingegnere e pilota di motoscafi. Dell'Orto non solo continu\u00f2 a gareggiare con successo con l'idrovolante, ma ne miglior\u00f2 notevolmente l'aerodinamica, contribuendo a mantenere la competitivit\u00e0 della barca. Negli anni '60, Dell'Orto ottenne numerose vittorie con l'Arno XI, tra cui il Campionato Europeo del 1960, consolidando cos\u00ec la leggenda di questo straordinario idrovolante.
