La prospettiva di un duello storico tra le vetture da 3 litri della Ferrari e i modelli da 2 litri della Porsche, leader del campionato, attir\u00f2 circa 200.000 spettatori lungo il percorso, per assistere alla pi\u00f9 importante corsa di durata europea.<\/p>\n<p>Per aggiudicarsi il titolo di campione del mondo, la Ferrari si present\u00f2 estremamente ben equipaggiata, schierando ben 13 vetture tra scuderie ufficiali e private. La Ferrari 250 GT SWB (Short Wheel Base), che debutt\u00f2 al Salone di Parigi nel 1959, vanta una carriera sportiva breve ma estremamente vincente, coronata tra l'altro da partecipazioni significative a Le Mans nel 1960 e 1961. Questo specifico esemplare, con l'evocativa parte anteriore verde e il numero di gara 15, fu guidato dai piloti Whitehead e Taylor.
