Originariamente come <strong>Gran Premio d'Austria<\/strong> ist ins Leben gerufen, fand die erste Austragung 1965 \u00fcber eine Distanz von 200 Meilen statt. Gefahren wurde auf einem tempor\u00e4ren Flugplatzkurs auf dem Fliegerhorst Hinterstoisser-Zeltweg, der im Vorjahr noch Schauplatz der Formel 1 gewesen war.<\/p>\n<p>Dopo che la distanza di gara fu estesa a 500 chilometri tra il 1966 e il 1968, l'evento si afferm\u00f2 finalmente nel 1969 come un'impegnativa gara di 1000 chilometri.
