With its presentation at the Geneva Motor Show in 2000, the Italian manufacturer introduced its twentieth open-top roadster. Despite the V8 engine clearly positioned at the rear, the engineers managed to integrate a fully automatic, completely retractable soft-top into the body lines.

The vehicle's aerodynamic efficiency is optimised by means of double, separate air intakes. This special design directs the airflow specifically under the chassis towards the rear diffusers. A high level of safety is provided by two robust roll bars, which reinforce the headrests. A significant technical innovation of this series was also the consistent use of aluminium as a structural material for the frame.
